A conference organized together with the Federation of Austrian Industries and the Vienna University of Economics and Business

On May 11, 2016, Graf Isola (f.k.a. Graf & Pitkowitz) together with the Federation of Austrian Industries and Vienna University of Economics and Business organized a conference on the topic of Current Data Protection Challenges for Business. The conference was held on the premises of the Federation of Austrian Industries in Vienna.

The new EU General Data Protection Regulation and innovations in the field of data protection now approaching Austria were explained by well-known speakers, including Prof. Christoph Grabenwarter and Prof. Nikolaus Forgó, to around 70 guests (primarily members of the Federation of Austrian Industries).

This very well-attended event provided an overview of the legal, economic and technical data protection challenges facing companies. The presentations of the experts covered current topics such as international data transfer, cloud computing, new enforcement measures, data breach, data protection officers, and many more.

Ferdinand Graf and Marija Križanac, data protection experts at Graf Isola, talked about data protection in employment relationships. “The EU General Data Protection Regulation with its massive penalties of up to EUR 20 million or 4% of consolidated group turnover will fundamentally change the way companies handle personal data”, commented Ferdinand Graf.
