Delayed EU Whistle-blower Directive to enter into force

After a delay of more than a year, the EU-Whistleblower Directive has finally been implemented and signed into Austrian law.

Companies with at least 50 employees must now internal whistleblower systems so that grievances in the company can be unveiled and, ideally, also remedied by the company/employer. Anonymous whistleblowing is also permitted.

In addition to the delayed implementation, there is also criticism of how the Directive has been transposed into Austrian law.
